This video is terrible, and by that, I also mean terribly funny. As you've surely heard by now, Jose Guillen had to be held back from going after a fan on Tuesday night that had been heckling him all night and said "the magic word" according to the Kansas City Royals right fielder.
We assume the attendee in question was a Royals fan because who else would subject themselves to a game in Kansas City. And we also assume he was drunk, because, well, he's a Royals fan.
Who knows what was said, probably something about someone's momma having a higher batting average, but either it's a good close up angle, albeit shaky, of the mad man that is Jose Guillen.
Seriously, if you're going to taunt someone, try to harass one who isn't crazy enough to actually come into the stands and beat you silly.
In other news, Royals manager Trey Hillman picked a good spot for this show.
“I was actually in the toilet, so I didn’t see it,” Hillman said. “Managers do have to use the restroom and I guess I picked a bad time to be in the restroom. … There’s no sense on commenting on it.”

Happy College Football Day! Most of your teams aren't playing until Saturday, but tonight we get real actual football on college campuses. I can't be any happier about that.
Before we start making some new highlights, I thought we'd take one last look back on gems of 2007. We can only hope Mike Gundy's rant gets topped. I'd settle for someone even making it into the ballpark.
Michigan falls to Appalachian State in the first game of the season, on Big Ten Network's debut.
The coaching rant to end all coaching rants. Gundy is 41 now, but still a man.
Quite possibly the game of the year. Kentucky 43, LSU 37 3OT
Trick play of the year, mostly due to the look on Steve Spurrier's face.
Upset of the year, volume 2. Jim Harbaugh gets the best of Pete Carroll.
Because beating Notre Dame never gets old. Navy finally wins.
There's plenty more highlights, both those were the images that stood out for me in one of the more entertaining college football seasons in recent memory. The fun starts tonight. Enjoy.

JD Drew's back injury came as a huge blow to the Boston Red Sox. They are currently in the middle of the Wild Card race, leading the Twins by 2.5 games, and are also trailing the Rays by 3.5 games in the AL East. Drew has been outstanding this year, for the Sox, even though he has cooled off considerably as of late. He's still 3rd in the AL with a .408 OBP, and 6th in OPS, widely considered to be the most important offensive statistic. His average has dipped to .280, but he has 19 HR, 64 RBI, and nearly a 1:1 ratio of walks to strikeouts. However, Drew is on the DL with a back injury. This isn't the first time he's been hurt. Drew has an extensive history of injuries, and that has always been a concern with him. He has had issues with his wrist, his knee, his quadricep, his ankle, and of course his back. He has averaged less than 120 games per year, since he started playing "full-time" in 1999.
In order to essentially replace Drew, the Sox acquired Mark Kotsay from the Braves in a post-deadline waiver deal. Kotsay is in the middle of a rather average year for him, hitting .289 with 6 HR and 37 RBI in 88 games.
The most puzzling part of this deal is that in replacing their oft-injured right fielder, the Red Sox picked up a guy with an interesting injury history of his own. Kotsay missed time earlier this year, coincidentally with a back injury. This hardly seems like a wise "insurance policy" for the Red Sox while Drew is gone.
However, if Kotsay is able to stay healthy and contribute as expected, Drew's time on the DL probably won't cost the Sox all that much. Drew is certainly a better hitter, but Kotsay is an excellent fielder, and will provide the team with a slight upgrade in that sense.
The pitching should be enough to keep the Sox afloat enough to maintain their lead over the Twins in the Wild Card race, but the loss of Drew, even if only for a short period, puts a serious damper on their chances of catching up to the Rays. Even with injuries to Carl Crawford and Evan Longoria, the Rays are playing very well, and are simply winning too many games for the Red Sox to catch up at this point. If the Red Sox are to beat the Rays, it will probably have to be in October.

Johan Santana wasn't exactly lights-out this time for the Mets, but their offense was able to get it done, and their bullpen was uncharacteristically good in a 6-3 win over the Phillies.Santana gave up 3 early runs, but Carlos Delgado homered twice and drove in three, and was one of three Mets (along with Carlos Beltran and Jose Reyes) to have 3 hits.
For the Phillies, Rudy Seanez and Brad Lidge combined for only one inning, but managed to give up 2 runs each, wasting a 2-run HR by Ryan Howard. He is now tied with Carlos Quentin for the MLB lead in HR's with 36.

Through the years, there have always been rivalries in NASCAR, several of them have been memorable.Richard Petty and Bobby Allison hated each other on the track more than NHL fans hate Chris Simon.
Dale Earnhardt and Darrell Waltrip were filed in the dictionary under "NASCAR rivalry" in the mid '80s. 1986 was the climax when they finished 1-2 in the points in a season that started off in race #2 at Richmond where they wrecked each other out while leading the field with less than 5 laps to go.
Dale Earnhardt and Rusty Wallace had the epic battle in 1993, back in the days when Earnhardt gave Rusty the nickname "rubberneck" because he always wanted to see what was going on. They also finished 1-2 in the standings that year.
Then there was the respectful rivalry of 1998 where Jeff Gordon and Mark Martin had an all out war with each other, but a clean one, when they too finished 1-2 in the standings, and combined to win 20 of the 33 races!
Who can forget Kevin Harvick and Greg Biffle? That battle will never end. Check the current standings and speak of the devil, they're right behind each other!
Last year it was HMS teammates Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson racing for the title, and oh what a race it was, but since they were teammates it never got ugly
Now it's Kyle Busch and Carl Edwards, and surprise surprise, they're currently the top 2 in points...oh and they drive for different teams, so sparks are guaranteed to fly, and that's just what's happening.
The last time 2 drivers from different teams dominated the season like this was Martin & Gordon 10 years ago. Could we be watching history repeat itself? There's a lot of similarities...
- Martin raced for Roush, Gordon for Hendrick...Edwards is a Roushketeer, Busch a year removed from HMS.
- Martin and Gordon by this point in the season had combined to win 13 of the 22 races...Edwards and Busch have combined for 14 of the 24 victory lane celebrations so far this year.
- Martin and Gordon were separated by 67 points at this point of the season and were 156 points ahead of 3rd place...Edwards and Busch are separated by 212, but are still over 200 points ahead of the rest of the competition.
By now you've all seen the latest incident. For those of you living under a rock, here's the (not so) short version. Edwards pulled the bump-and-run on Busch with 30 laps to go at Bristol. Busch bumped him back unsuccessfully, and couldn't get back by Edwards. On the cool down lap, Edwards was waving to the crowd when the 18 started smacking him in the driver's side door. Edwards retaliated by spinning Shrub, generating a huge cheer from the crowd. Shrub said "if that's the way he wants to race, so be it." Edwards said in victory lane "I thought 'would he do that to me,' and he has."
Now, BOTH drivers have been placed on probation for the next 6 races, starting this week in California. That means NASCAR will be watching Shrub and Carl like a hawk. Any retaliatory move made by either driver will mean big trouble. I understand NASCAR's position, which states both drivers violated a rule that says you're not allowed to hit another competitor's car after the race has ended. That said, this postrace debacle wouldn't have happened if Kyle Busch would've acted like an adult. Instead he threw a temper tantrum and showed the NASCAR world he still needs diapers.
Kyle Busch is a hypocrite, as is NASCAR. Shrub can dish it out, but can't take it. NASCAR claims they want to see the drivers show their emotions, yet they still penalize drivers when they do just that. Busch's extra hits weren't necessary, but NASCAR wants drama from the drivers. They said before the start of the season "we want to see drivers showcase their emotions more." Umm, excuse me, Mr. Helton...if that postrace altercation wasn't showcasing emotions, what was it, besides immaturity on Kyle Busch's part?
If Shrub had some brains, he would've waited till they were both out of their cars. That would've been the sensible thing to do. Instead he decided to body slam the 99, and when Edwards gave him some payback, he unfortunately got penalized too. Maybe when they said "show more emotion," they wanted to see something along the lines of Kevin Harvick throwing a tantrum on Ricky Rudd's roof in Richmond when Rudd said "he's got that little yap-yap mouth."
Take it from me, you haven't heard the last of this feud this year, not by a long shot. NASCAR fans, Kyle Busch and Carl Edwards are the newest Sprint Cup Series rivalry. I will guarantee you this (not) family feud will continue until a champion is crowned for 2008. Just watch to see if either of these drivers makes an attempt to test NASCAR's probation ruling this weekend, because they'll be sorry if they do.
